Helpers Information
Kariong Soccer Club operates the canteen, as well as a barbeque, on a weekly basis and requires the help of parents from each of our teams.The profit from the sale of foods assists in meetings the increasing costs of running the Club. This is generally our only source of income.

A canteen roster will be set up for Saturdays. Teams with home games will be rostered for canteen duty. Most teams will have only one stint of canteen duty of over the whole season. We usually run the canteen from 8.15 am til 12.30pm, when either the Rugby Club or the Rugby League take over. On occasion the Soccer Club may need to run the canteen in the afternoons.

Each team manager will be provided with time and day allocations and it is up to the manager to organize the parent roster. It is MOST important that parents be available to assists. If for some unforeseen reason that you are unable to attend your canteen duties, at the last minute, please inform our canteen co-coordinator. Two people in the canteen and two on the barbeque are usually enough.

To Open the Canteen
  • Arrive at the canteen at 8.15am, ready for opening at 8.30am
  • A club official will deliver the float
  • Stock in located as follows:
  • Lollies, tea & coffee is in a steel cupboard marked SOCCER behind the inner door
  • Drinks are in the lower steel cupboard
  • Perishables are in the fridge
  • Turn on the pie warmer and stock with pies and sausage rolls
  • Fill the urn with hot water and turn on
  • Put a sample of drinks and chips on top of the pie warmer for customers to see
  • Add stock to fridge as necessary
  • Ensure confectionery and pies etc., are replenished as sold

    To Close the Canteen
  • Please leave the canteen clean and tidy, sweep and mop the floor is necessary
  • Pack away unsold stock in the steel cupboards
  • Leftover perishables such as pies, bread and meat should be put into plastic bags labeled SOCCER and put in the freezer
  • Wait until a soccer club official has collected the money
  • Lock the roller shutter and the two doors
